In June 2006, I attended ThrillerFest at the Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix, AZ, which gave me the opportunity to meet many fans of the genre and several of the authors who endorsed The Plantation and/or Sign of the Cross.

I’ve decided to post some of my personal photos for two reasons: 1) Meeting these writers was a huge thrill for me, and these photos will help my memories last a lifetime, and 2) This is proof I’m one of the tallest authors in the world!

Here I am with Clive Cussler, one of my all-time favorite writers.

I’m not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but less than a week after this photo was taken, James Rollins cracked the Top 10 of the New York Times bestseller list for the first time in his career. I like to think I was a part of that. (If for no other reason than I bought a copy of his book.)

Rumor has it that Lee Child based his Jack Reacher character on me.

Steve Berry was one of the first authors to endorse Sign of the Cross.
