This is Wawel Hill, site of the cathedral where the former Cardinal Karol Wojtyla (better known as Pope John Paul II) once preached and Wawel Royal Castle where Polish royalty once lived. (If I had to guess, my relatives were never residents ― unless there was a prison inside.)
