While touring for The Plantation, I had an event at Books & Company in Birmingham, Alabama. It was a midweek event and I wasn’t expecting much fanfare, but the employees really outdid themselves. They must’ve ordered 200 books and had them displayed all over the store. And from what I’m told, I missed the best part. For the entire week leading up to the event, they used my books to build a giant plantation house, complete with pillars and a roof. Unfortunately, they had to disassemble it before I showed up so I’d have some books to sign.
