SIGN OF THE CROSS

 

Here are my foreign language deals for Sign of the Cross. As soon as I get the cover art, I will add them to my website. (Deals are listed in alphabetical order.)

 

AUSTRalIAN Penguin Books Australia released a trade paperback version in Australia and New Zealand on May 7, 2007. The cover image is the same as the British version (see below).

 

BRITISH Penguin UK released Sign of the Cross under their Michael Joseph imprint in April 2007.

 

 

 

 

BULGARIAN ERA, a publisher in Sofia, Bulgaria, released Sign of the Cross in July 2007. Their author list includes Jeffrey Deaver, Vince Flynn, and Robert Crais.

 

 

 

 

CZECH Jota Publishing, one of the largest publishers in the Czech Republic, acquired the Czech rights to Sign of the Cross. They will release it in hardcover in 2008.

 

DUTCH Uitgeverij M, an imprint of De Boekerij, publishes Michael Connelly, Kathy Reichs, and Sue Grafton. My book was their lead thriller title in the Summer of 2007.

 

 

 

 

ESTONIAN Eram Books acquired the Estonian rights for Sign of the Cross. Eram publishes Dean Koontz and Michael Connelly, among others.

 

GermanDroemer-Knaur are part of the massive Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, which owns many American publishers including St. Martin’s Press, Tor Books, and Henry Holt. They will distribute SOTC to all German-speaking markets including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

 

GREEK ― Modern Times, a publisher in Athens, obtained the Greek rights for Sign of the Cross. To celebrate this Polish/Greek partnership, I’m going to eat some kielbasa souvlaki.

 

 

 

 

INDONESIAN Serambi Publishing in Jakarta released the Indonesian version of Sign of the Cross in January 2008.

 

 

 

 

LATVIAN Kontinents will publish the Latvian version of Sign of the Cross. Its author list includes Dan Brown, David Baldacci, Brad Meltzer, Douglas Preston, and others.

 

PORTUGUESE ― Mill Books, a brand-new publisher in Portugal, selected Sign of the Cross as one of four foreign titles to help launch their new house.

 

ROMANIAN RAO Publishing in Bucharest just acquired the Romanian rights for Sign of the Cross. RAO has an impressive roster of American authors (Dan Brown, Dean Koontz, Michael Crichton, Clive Cussler, etc.) so I’m in great company.

 

Russian AST is the largest publisher in Russia, and its name honors its three founders: Andrei, Svetlana, and Tatyana. They also publish Dan Brown, John Grisham, James Patterson, Stephen King, and Michael Connelly. SOTC will be available in Russia and several former Soviet republics in Spring 2008.

 

SpanishEditorial Planeta, the largest publisher in Spain, released Sign of the Cross in Spain, Mexico, South America, and wherever Spanish books are sold on November 13, 2007.

 

 

 

 

TURKISH Artemis Yayinlari, a major publisher with its own distribution network in Turkey, has obtained the Turkish rights for Sign of the Cross.
